Halemaumau photo-op

Got a quick snapshot of this couple and their dog visiting Halemaumau, didn't even notice at the time that the guy's face was reflected in his tablet while he shot a photo. The dog appears to be uninterested but then again at his level he can't see anything on the volcano side. Photo by Baron Sekiya

Some random visitor to Halemaumau Crater getting some video of the smoke rising from the vent. Overcast on this New Year's Day. Photo by Baron Sekiya

The Halemaumau Overlook Vent smoking away on Kilauea Thursday morning, January 1, 2015. With the mild morning temperature and winds from the Southeast the fumes were pushing North over the landscape instead of rising straight up. Photo by Baron Sekiya

I’ve decided to start posting more photos on my blog and trying to ignore facebook more. Not quite a resolution but the blog had become neglected. I also spared you a photo of my big breakfast at KMC of bacon, Western Omlette, sausage, roast pork, mahimahi. Avoiding the carbs to start the new year right. The not so secret secret is that anyone can enjoy eating there, I’ve never seen them card for military. Enjoy.
