Firecracker Fest

(30MB video size)Hawaii residents love their fireworks and folks at the Kona Hotel are no exception. You hear some yelling at the end as the shower of sparks from the first bomb hits the crowd.

Childhood memories.

Yeah, I stayed away from the crazy zone of fireworks lovers on the Big Island. I used to work in Kaneohe and Kailua so ran the gauntlet of fireworks many times driving around the Windward side.

I still wonder how folks get their bags and things through airport security what with all that firecracker residue on hands, clothing, etc.

Your right…I guess I was lucky that they didnt swab my bags when I flew back. Altho perhaps they expect some residue during new years and let small amounts slide?
