Bought a great movie, Idiocracy by Mike Judge. Yeah, it’s the same guy who brought us Beavis and Butthead and Office Space. It’s a dark comedy about what could happen in the world if we keep dumbing it down. The movie is hilarious at the fun it pokes at big corporations and I’m not even sure how the heck they got away with using so many corporate names and logos (Costco, Carl’s Jr, Starbucks, amongst others). But then again maybe they got permission somehow since instead of using the brand name Gatorade they use Brawndo instead.
The trailers for the movie online are terrible in that they don’t make sense out of context and because the movie drops the F-Bomb quite often some of the funnier lines couldn’t make it into the trailers. There is a rumour that 20th Century Fox didn’t do anything to promote the movie at all because of the blowback from corporations depicted in the movie along with FOX News appearing in the movie.
The voiceover narrator in the movie says, The years passed, mankind became stupider at a frightening rate. Some had high hopes the genetic engineering would correct this trend in evolution, but sadly the greatest minds and resources where focused on conquering hair loss and prolonging erections. I think that sums it up.

I saw this through Netflix a few months ago. It's frigging hilarious – and, on a disturbing level, may become somewhat prophetic. The two demographics I see having babies by an overwhelmingly large margin are:
– People with a high school education or less, and who can't afford to have them
– Hardcore religious folks who think the world was formed 6,000 years ago and that Noah's flood formed the Grand Canyon
I think TV is to blame, mostly. TV watching should be regulated like booze and cigs.
Why? Because if you do it too much, it has an adverse effect on your life – and those around you.
Another good quote from the movie:
Pvt. Joe Bowers: Man, I could really go for a Starbucks, y'know?
Frito: I don't really think we have time for a handjob, Joe.
Also loved the House of Representin'
I am a Mike Judge fan. I love Office Space, I'm the biggest King of the Hill fan ever, and I just bought Beavis and Butthead Do America on a recent trip to Best Buy. But I hated Idiocracy. It was so idiotic I finally had to shut it off.
this movie is funny and crazy at the same time
