Ah yes, a visit to the wonderful Makuu Farmers Market in Puna where you can find things to eat, drink, see, buy, listen to and inhale (yeah, I’m talking about essential oils, incense, and other such legal things…they did have a CBD booth too). Parking is $2 and I think they close at 2 p.m. so that should be easy to remember.
Since Ryan Ozawa is encouraging local Hawaii bloggers to get blogging again I figured I had better post something, anything! I encourage folks to blog rather than using big blue (FB) as you don’t give up rights to your work, things are easier to search for, and you can shine independently.
The perfect Keto sandwich. Two Chaffles for a bacon sandwich.
- 1 Egg
- 1/8-1/4 Cup Cheese
Beat the egg well. On a waffle iron sprinkle some shredded cheese on it, put some egg onto that, then another sprinkle of shredded cheese before closing. Cook for an appropriate amount of time for your waffle iron, mine took about 3 minutes. Sprinkling the cheese onto the iron instead of mixing it into the egg allows the outside to get a beautiful brown and crisp. I used a mix of Cheddar and Mozarella Cheeses. I put some crispy bacon and a bit of mayonnaise in this sandwich, I started eating it before remembering to take a photo because it was so good. This recipe makes about 2 Chaffles, I used closer to 1/8 cup of cheese. If you really like cheese you can add more.
